About Me

I strive to be a great character animator.

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, and graduated Bowling Green State University with a degree in Digital Art in May 2007. I’ve wanted to be an animator since the release of Aladdin when I was in second grade (yes, I’ve known since a very young age what I’ve wanted to do) and was inspired even more with the release of Toy Story three years later.

One of my major goals in life is to never stop learning. This goes for life in general, but also for animation. I don’t want to ever become complacent and think, “well, I’ve got it. Now just keep doing things this way and it will always work out.” There are always new things to do, new things to learn; in animation there’s always a different workflow to try, a scene with a situation you’ve never handled before, a character with different proportions or a different personality, the list goes on forever – and all of these things require an open mind, the preparedness for failure, and the perseverance to try it again.

I love exploring new things. I love learning. And I never want to quit.

I am also co-founder of the animation website SpeakingOfAnimation.com; where I get to ramble about things I’ve learned and interview those that know far more than I.
